Talking about anecdotes
Exercise 10: Pronunciation
Read the following story. How do you think the –ed in the past simple verbs are pronounced?
When I was at school, I played football in the school team. When I was 14, I decided that I really wanted to be in the team, so I tried really hard to get in, and eventually I succeeded. I missed some games because I lived far away from the school, but I played in some important matches. In my last year at school, the team’s manager promised to take us on holiday if we won the championship. We failed to win, but we really liked the experience.
