Talking about anecdotes

Exercise 12: Writing and speaking

Write a paragraph describing a memorable experience from your life.

For example:
A family party
A big surprise
A funny experience
Something difficult you had to do

For example:

After I finished school, I worked in a restaurant for a short time. I wanted to earn some money so it was a good opportunity, but I soon realised that I wasn’t a good waitress. I hated being on my feet for hours, and I only remembered some of the things that the custumers ordered! You can imagine that I wasn't very popular with the manager of the restaurant. The worst thing was that when I became tired, I started to have accidents. One time I even splashed soup on a customer because I wasn’t paying attention! Of course, he shouted at me, and I felt terrible. I tried to be a better waitress, but in the end, I had to leave the restaurant. It was a difficult experience, but it was also important for me to learn that every job has its difficult aspects, and to find out one job that certainly wasn't the right one for me!

When you've written your story, check it for mistakes.

Is there anything you want to change?
